DIG
DIG is a three part project tracing the story of two children who dug to China from the small New England city of Biddeford, ME in 1867. The 6548 mile tunnel led Adam Chase and Douglas Nelson to the center of the Great Forbidden City in Beijing where they met the Chinese Emperor T'ung Chih.

The first component of DIG, a novel, shares the diary of Adam Chase followed by a analysis of the historical setting of the story. The second component is a monument in marking the spot where the two children began their peculiar journey. The third part takes shape in an extensive website, with relevant information about Adam Chase, Douglas Nelson, Emperor T'ung Chih, and historical documentation of their journey.
